Algerian Ambassador Meets Bangladesh State Minister for Foreign Affairs

Dhaka, 12 October 2026 – The Ambassador of Algeria to Bangladesh, H.E. Dr Abdelouahab Saidani, paid a courtesy call on the State Minister for Foreign Affairs of Bangladesh, Ms Shama Obaed Islam, at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs in Dhaka.

The meeting provided an opportunity to discuss ways to strengthen Algerian-Bangladeshi cooperation, particularly in energy, fertilisers, pharmaceuticals, trade, investment and agriculture, as well as in shipbuilding, climate change, sports and culture.

Both sides reaffirmed their commitment to further developing bilateral relations, founded on longstanding friendship, mutual respect and shared aspirations for sustainable development. They also underscored the importance of high-level exchanges and closer economic and people-to-people ties to advance cooperation between Algeria and Bangladesh.
