Mr. Attaf holds talks with CTBTO Executive Secretary in Antalya

Minister of State, Minster of Foreign Affairs, National Community Abroad and African Affairs, Ahmed Attaf, held bilateral talks on Saturday in Antalya, Türkiye, with Executive Secretary of the Comprehensive Nuclear-Test-Ban Treaty Organization (CTBTO) Robert Floyd, on the sidelines of the second day of the Antalya Diplomacy Forum.

During the discussions, both parties reviewed the state and prospects of Algeria-CTBTO cooperation. They also addressed the mounting challenges facing disarmament and nuclear non-proliferation at the international level.

The two sides explored "ways to encourage broader participation of African countries in the organization's cooperative activities," drawing on Algeria's steadfast commitment to international law and recalling its painful experience with the lasting effects of French nuclear testing .
